A nice walk in the park is always nice. That takes away the formalities and gets to the getting to know each other with no interruptions. Plus, it's more of a casual atmosphere. So, you get to be comfortable.

I think meeting someone is easier over a shared fun activity. Mini golf, a movie, etc. Then sit down at a restaurant and talk.
I like to keep it simple and fun. No need to add any more pressure or awkwardness to a date.
Picnic, walk in the city, comedy show.... bubble tea, tapas and wine, anything less than $30 so I can see how creative you get on a budget where we can still have fun and if we don't at least nobody wasted money
